My Dad Richard (Dick) and our family lived in LaGrande,OR. and other places up till 1965 when Dad moved to Las Vegas to be with his second wife. Didn't spend much time with George and Mary either but the times I did were memorable and fun. Prince Albert hand rolled cigarettes and watching baseball on a black and white TV.!!! Watching home movies of boating on the lake on a sheet hung up as a screen. Boating on the lake in that big black ?Chris-Craft? boat.
Is there a family tree somewhere?
Regards,
Dave

Hey Dave! There Ya Go! That brought back some stories I witnessed too. Did you know George was an awesome Knuckleball Pitcher? I Loved that boat, Merle took me out in it a couple of times. Marion and I have quite few good times. Dick helped me out after I hurt my leg Rodeoing.
Cant't wait to hear more from you.--------Mike.
David, how wonderful to see your post. And, yes, a lot of fun was had with that boat.
I have a great deal of family history, and all of my mother's picture albums. I have to redo all the information on my Family Tree program. Hope to have that finished by reunion time so that all who want it may have a copy.
Hope you will be able to see you in June.
Mike,
Did you ever try to change the TV channel at Grandpa's house when a baseball game was on? HAHAHA!
Baseball was a religion.
I think of Grandpa every time I see a little red Prince Albert can.
Grandma was the best for cooking a great meal.
Regarding my Dad, he was a good man.
He helped many family members out.
I thank my sister Cheryl for bringing us back together in his last few days.
Aunt Eilena,
Good to see that you're online too.
I'd love to have some memories of Grandpa and Grandma and the rest of the family to share with my wife and daughter.
I don't think I ever met all my uncles on the Murphy side.
You should get together with Cheryl if you haven't already. Her and Barb are the keepers of the family knowledge tree.

And if the game was on the radio but not the television, he listened to the game on the radio and still watched his TV shows. However, when the Lawrence Welk show as on TV Dad relinquished the TV to Mom.
Cheryl and I have been emailing back and forth with family stuff. We have also shared some pictures, and will be doing much more.
I hope you, your wife and daughter will be able to join us for the reunion. We plan to have the geneology and pictures for everyone. Most of the pictures will be put on a CD for anyone who wants a copy.
And you are right about your Dad. He was a fun and loving man. I always loved being around him. And please believe me when I tell you that he never forgot any of his children. He loved and missed you all.
While answering your email I thought of something that always makes me grin. The summer I graduated from high school I came to LaGrande and spent the summer at your house. I remember one day Marion was there. We were outside and you fell on the sidewalk and hurt your arm. You started crying and Marion asked you "Is it bleeding?" You said "No". Marion asked you "Then what are you crying for?" You started laughing and any time after that if you started to cry about anything we would ask you "It is bleeding?" and you would just start laughing and giggling. Don't ask me why but that has always been a precious memory for me.
